Psalm 127:3
“Sons
are a heritage from the Lord, and children are a reward from Him”
At
Soul Café we believe all children are a precious gift from
our heavenly Father. We have a strong desire to further their spiritual
growth through the teaching of God’s work and further their
emotional growth through encouragement and praise.
It
is important that we give our little ones a good foundation and
understanding of what it means to have Jesus live in their hearts,
and how we can praise God through worship, teaching, missions and
building community.
Each
one of our Bible teachers has a deep love for the Lord and a love
for our little ones. Because of this love, they have committed their
time to pass on what Christ has worked in their own lives.
Because
we also care about the safety of our little ones, each teacher is
required to go through training in a program called “Reducing
the Risk”. We want to love, minister to and protect each child
to the best of our ability under the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Worship
Through Music – Psalm 139:14
We
believe worship through song to be a wonderful way to communicate
our love to the Lord – “In song and hymns and spiritual
songs, singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord”
Eph 5:19.
Whether
it is though clapping or instruments or their sweet little voices
we believe our Lord inhabits and desires the praises of His people.
(Psalm 22:3) We believe this, as well as other acts of worship should
be taught very young.
Worship
Through Teaching
We
believe the bible to be the Word of God – II Timothy 3:16-17
“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness 17 so that the
man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Our
desire is to convey deeper biblical truths even at an early age,
to hide the word of God in their hearts, so they will be “thoroughly
equipped for every good work”.
Worship
Through Missions
Scripture tell us to share Christ with everyone and make disciples
of all nations. Mathew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the
Son and of the Holy Spirit 20 and teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very
end of the age”.
Our
goal is to have our little ones come to a saving knowledge of our
Lord and turn around and share this knowledge with their friends
and family. God can work in and through our children!
Worship
Through Community
Matthew
10:25 “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in
the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and
all the more as you see the Day approaching” 1John 1:3-4 “We
proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may
have fellowship us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with
His Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.”
Acts 2:44-47 “And the believers were together and had everything
in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to
anyone as he had need. 46 Everyday they continued to meet together
in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together
with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor
of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those
who were being saved.”
Our
community is built through meeting together, eating together, praying
together and meeting one another’s needs - true intimacy in
Christ and with one another. The children can not only learn this
now but they also begin to live it as we pray together, eat and
snack together, worship together and if a friend or even someone
they don’t know has a need to meet that need as best we can.
As
a children’s ministry, our desire is to come along side of
you to instill Biblical truth to your children and equip them to
walk in this truth daily.
